We started Vimse with a simple question: why is it so hard to keep track of what to cook and what to buy? Existing apps were either overloaded with features we didn't need, or too basic to be actually useful. We wanted something in between — thoughtful, fast, and designed for how people actually live.
The first version was built for ourselves. A place to save recipes we found online, adjust servings on the fly, and send ingredients straight to a shopping list. No social features, no discovery algorithm, no premium tier with hidden essentials. Just a tool that works.
We believe software should respect the people who use it. That means no ads, no tracking, no dark patterns. It means working offline, syncing quietly in the background, and getting out of your way. Vimse is built in Norway with these values at its core, and we plan to keep it that way.
